Class Information for 2024 Summer Camp

The 2024 ASU Summer Camp will consist of outdoor and indoor classes at Aikido Shobukan Dojo in Washington DC. Due to space limitations in the dojo, the camp will be limited to 60 participants.

Health & Safety:

Aikido Shobukan Dojo has a mask optional policy. The dojo is equipped with first aid supplies.

Indoor Classes

Outdoor Classes
Outdoor class location (1 mile from dojo): Fort Slocum (5800 3rd St NW, Washington, DC 20011)

If you plan on attending outdoor weapons classes, please stay tuned for announcements about air quality the evening before.  Please bring your own water and weapons, and remember to dress accordingly for hot and humid weather (no need to wear full gi and hakama for outdoor classes).

In case of poor air quality or inclement weather, please check your email, the camp website and Aikido Shobukan Dojo’s Facebook page for possible last-minute changes and announcements.

Passbooks

We will collect your yudansha and mudansha passbook at the registration table at the dojo. They will be returned on Tuesday. Please only provide us your passbook if you registered for the full seminar.

Summer Camp Party & Potluck!

  • We will have a camp party on Thursday, July 4th, at 7 pm.

Camp Store:

The Camp Store will be open daily during the lunch break. We will be selling prior years’ Camp merch, including T Shirts, Sweatshirts and Tenugui at reduced prices! We will also have gi, patches, and mudansha books for sale. Come and check it out!
